“I often laugh at Satan, and there is nothing that makes him so angry as when I attack him to his face, and tell him that through God I am more than a match for him” – - Martin Luther
Have you ever noticed that the Devil just loooooves to poke into our wounds. He is rarely around when things are going right – when our vibes are high and we feel empowered.
But the minute even a flicker of negative thinking invades our minds, he and his little demons are there, ready to fight to the finish!
They don’t always fight with big ammunition. After all, many of us have learned to resist the big temptations, and are successful a lot of the time. So he has to be more clever. He waits patiently until something medium or even tiny happens to crack our armor against him. Then, he strikes – quickly, and with all his ammo.
Here is the good news: The Devil is a persistent fighter, but he isn’t that strategic. He fights with all he’s got, every time, til he runs out. So, all we have to do is to resist until he runs out of ammunition.
How? Through prayer and constant focus on what is positive, good and right – Christ Jesus our Lord. He will give you the strength you need to resist: For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength! (Philippians 4: 13)
Satan will be back, that is a fact of life. So our goal is to work to regenerate and to grow stronger in order to resist again. Whether he hits with a big thing, a medium thing, or even a little thing, we will overcome!
“No one is a firmer believer in the power of prayer than the devil; not that he practices it, but he suffers from it.” – - Guy H. King
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6: 11-12)
