The fear of success often doesn’t arrive until you are moving forward and genuinely seeing things happen towards your goal. But you aren’t there yet, and so visualization takes over and your inner mind starts to fill in the unknowns of how your life will be in your unfamiliar future.
The Enemy smells victory because you don’t know what to expect and he is more than willing to fill in the blanks for you.
Suppose you have followed all of the steps to God’s law of attraction to achieve your ideal career, and you have just started a new job with much more potential for growth within the company. In order to get your new job you tackled many of your limiting beliefs, so the Enemy can’t work with them anymore, so now he has to find a new strategy to foil God’s plan for you.
You don’t know a lot of people in your new job and feel a little lonely. The Enemy grabs onto that feeling and builds it until you begin to believe that if you continue to pursue your ideal career, you will be lonely for the rest of your life. Fearing lifelong loneliness, you unconsciously start to sabotage your career efforts.
On paper it seems almost incredible, but the Enemy uses this subtle tactic all the time to mess with our minds and keep us off track. We have to remember, God’s plan is for us to be fulfilled and serving Him in all areas of our life, and if we trust Him, we have nothing to fear.
How do we overcome our fears? Go to God! His word constantly reminds us that He is our source of strength and courage:
“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” ( Deuteronomy 31:6)
